Yonhap Internationally acclaimed Korean director Bong Joon-ho's new film, "Mickey 17," is confirmed to be released in his home country in January, its distributor said Thursday. The American sci-fi fantasy is set to hit local theaters on Jan. 28, the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, Warner Bros. Korea said. The film was scheduled for release in March of this year but was postponed due to various reasons, including Hollywood strikes. "Mickey 17," the director's first project since the Oscar-winning "Parasite" (2019), is adapted from Edward Ashton's eponymous novel, which revolves around a cloned space explorer sent to an ice-covered planet.
